GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT CERAMIC BRACES
Ceramic braces are a popular orthodontic treatment for straightening crooked, crowded, or uneven teeth. AT CARLING DENTAL, WE use tooth-coloured or clear brackets that blend with your natural teeth, making them less noticeable than traditional metal braces.
Ceramic braces work in the same way as traditional fixed braces. The brackets are carefully attached to the front of your teeth and connected with a thin orthodontic wire. Gentle, controlled pressure is applied to gradually move your teeth into their correct positions. Your braces are adjusted regularly throughout treatment to ensure your teeth continue to move safely and effectively.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE CERAMICS BRACES AS EFFECTIVE AS METAL BRACES?
Both can effectively straighten teeth. Ceramic braces offer a more discreet appearance because the brackets are designed to blend with your natural teeth. Your dentist or orthodontist can recommend the most suitable option based on your individual needs.
CAN I EAT NORMALLY WITH CERAMIC BRACES?
You can continue to eat most foods, but you should avoid very hard, sticky, or chewy foods that could damage the brackets or wires. Good oral hygiene is particularly important during orthodontic treatment.
HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY CERAMIC BRACES?
Brush your teeth carefully around the brackets and wires and clean between your teeth regularly. Maintaining good oral hygiene helps prevent plaque build-up, tooth decay, and staining during treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CERAMIC BRACES ARE REMOVED?
Once your teeth have been straightened, you’ll usually need to wear retainers to help maintain their new positions. Your dentist or orthodontist will advise you on how and when to wear your retainers.
