GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT INVISALIGN ® (COMPREHENSIVE)

Invisalign® Comprehensive is an advanced clear aligner treatment designed to straighten teeth and improve your smile without the appearance of traditional metal braces. Using a series of custom-made, removable and virtually invisible aligners, Invisalign® gradually moves your teeth into their planned positions.

At Carling Dental, your Invisalign® treatment is digitally planned to create a personalised sequence of aligners based on your individual teeth and orthodontic needs. Each set of aligners is worn for a specific period before moving on to the next set, gradually guiding your teeth towards their desired alignment. Invisalign® Comprehensive can be used to treat a wide range of orthodontic concerns, including crowded teeth, gaps, crooked teeth and certain bite problems. Because the aligners are removable, you can take them out when eating, drinking, brushing and flossing, making Invisalign® a convenient and discreet option for many adults and teenagers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DOES INVISALIGN COMPREHENSIVE TAKE?

Treatment time varies from person to person. The length of treatment depends on factors such as tooth alignment, bite, the amount of movement required and how consistently the aligners are worn.

For the best results, Invisalign® aligners should generally be worn for around 20–22 hours per day. They should mainly be removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing and flossing.

You should remove your Invisalign® aligners before eating. This allows you to enjoy your food normally while helping to keep your aligners clean and protected.

Water is generally fine while wearing your aligners. For other drinks, it is usually recommended to remove the aligners to help prevent staining and keep them clean.

Your aligners should be cleaned regularly according to the advice provided by your dental team. You should also continue brushing and flossing your teeth thoroughly before putting your aligners back in.

Invisalign® aligners are usually changed every 1–2 weeks, although your dentist will provide a personalised schedule based on your treatment plan and progress.
