GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front of your natural teeth to improve their colour, shape and overall appearance. They can be used to address a range of cosmetic concerns, including discoloured, chipped, worn, uneven or slightly misshapen teeth.

At Carling Dental, each porcelain veneer is individually designed to complement your natural smile. Your dentist will assess your teeth, gums and bite before treatment and discuss your preferred shade, shape and overall smile appearance. Porcelain veneers can create a brighter and more balanced smile while maintaining a natural appearance. They are carefully matched to your surrounding teeth and designed to complement your facial features.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I GET PORCELAIN VENEERS WITHOUT STRAIGHTENING MY TEETH?

It depends on the degree of misalignment. Porcelain veneers can sometimes improve the appearance of mildly crooked or uneven teeth, but they do not actually move teeth.

Teeth grinding or clenching can place significant pressure on veneers and increase the risk of chipping, cracking or loosening them.

Most patients adapt quickly to their veneers. However, because veneers slightly change the surface and shape of the teeth, you may initially notice a small difference when speaking.

Porcelain veneers are designed to be a long-term cosmetic restoration, but they do not last forever. Their lifespan depends on factors such as oral hygiene, bite, teeth grinding, diet, lifestyle and how well they are maintained.

Treatment usually involves 2–3 appointments, depending on the number of veneers and your individual treatment plan.
