Dr. Michael Carling

Dr Michael Carling earned his degree in dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, part of London University in 1991. After spending a number of years in general practice, Michael went to the United States to study Prosthodontics at The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in oral biology. This was a three-year, full time specialist training program. The breadth of knowledge of the program in the United States, was very different from any post-graduate course which was available in the United Kingdom. This broad breadth of knowledge gained in the United States is the foundation, from which Michael has grown his practice. It is present in every element of how the care which the practice delivers, is provided. Since 2008 Michael has used a stereo- microscope as a matter of course for all dental treatment. The ability to critically analyse research, has helped Michael to determine what are the most optimal materials to use and how to correctly use them. Michael’s enthusiasm for the profession is obvious, the importance of attention to detail, having an open yet critical mind when new materials or concepts are developed, and most importantly care for his patients and pride in the quality of his work all stem from his relishing and his love of being a dentist
